COLTON DANIEL

Board President

As president and founding member of Big Country Veterans, Colton Daniel brings both business acumen and heartfelt dedication to serving our nation's veterans. His background in managing his family's ranch and farm operations, with expertise in employee management, finance, and economics, helps drive the organization’s mission forward.

Daniel's commitment to veteran support was planted during his senior year of high school, witnessing the events of 9/11 and gaining a profound understanding of what it takes to maintain freedom. However, it was a personal loss that truly defined his mission. After hosting the organization’s first hunt at his ranch in 2016, he formed a close friendship with a veteran who later lost his battle with suicide. This experience strengthened his resolve to provide quality support to veterans and inspire others to join the cause.

Today, Daniel actively contributes to the organization’s growth by hosting the annual hog hunt, serving on the board and providing financial support. Under his leadership, the organization stands firmly on the values of God, family and service to one another. The nonprofit is dedicated to educating both sponsors and non-sponsors about the genuine needs of service members.

Beyond his work with the organization, Daniel serves on multiple boards, including the school board and Pitchfork board, and maintains active membership in organizations such as TSCRA and AQHA. These connections help strengthen ties to both the agricultural and veteran communities.

His leadership philosophy is simple but powerful: "Don't find me problems, find me solutions!" This approach guides the organization’s work as it strives to become a leading force in veteran support. The goal isn't just to help veterans – it's to save lives and create lasting positive change in the community.

A special note about Daniel's connection to the organization: He proposed to his wife during the nonprofit’s first annual hog hunt at his ranch, making it an integral part of both his professional mission and personal story.
